How Can I Fix My Hdtv If The Picture Goes Black But I Can Still Hear The Sound?

I have a sharp 26″ HDTV. I was watching a football game and suddenly the picture went out but not the sound. I turned the tv off for a couple of minutes and turned it back on and it was back to normal. The next day the picture went out again and I tried turning it off and the on, but this time it didn’t work. The tv has got sound but no picture. I want to see if there is a simple solution before I send it to get repaired.
